1stop4trades.com is based in Rossendale, Lancashire.

Hello my name is Andy, thank you for looking at my first blog post which is an introduction to my business and what we do.

Me and my partner Nicola are private landlords in between our day jobs and have used lots of different Tradesmen to help us with renovation projects and repairs over the years, we have got to know quite a few different trades people and pretty much know a good person or business to complete any task when it comes to property renovation. We are regularly asked to recommend good tradesmen by friends and family which gave us the idea of creating a website for our local area. 

We wanted to create an easy to use website for people to search for Tradespeople around Rossendale. Our website was launched in June 2014 and we have over 100 businesses listed so far, Builders, Plumbers, Electricians, Joiners and many more.

Recently we have expanded the search areas to cover most of Lancashire and Manchester as we're not that far away and many of the businesses who wanted to join were from outside the areas we covered. We are not a national site and don't ever intend to be, we are keeping it local and it is free at the moment for Traders to join as we are still a new site. We do intend to charge a small membership fee for Tradesmen in future to help with our advertising costs, but don't want to ask for a fee until we offer value for money.

We have put in place a basic vetting procedure and check business insurance, photo I.D and relevant qualifications and many of our Tradesmen are also members of the Lancashire Safe Trader scheme. All Traders can have reviews written by their customers on the site and we feel this will be a good guide for new customers to use. We check as much as possible all reviews are genuine and if bad feedback is warranted it will be posted.

We really want this to become the best site for people to find good local Tradesmen in Lancashire. It is easy to search for the Trade you need in your location, then see the Traders profiles including pictures of their work, customer reviews and a link to their website or Facebook page.

Unfortunately there are still lots of cowboy's who operate by cold calling and preying on vulnerable people such as the elderly and we want to help stop this, it is much easier than you think to hire a cowboy who simply wants to rip you off and if you have ever been a victim you will understand.
